MACPS - swarna - 03-15-2010 07:52 PM

I joined Railways in 1983 through RRB as Jr.steno I got promotion in 1989 as Sr.steno 5000 - 8000, In 2002 I got promotion as CA 5500-9000. I got promoted as PS II in 2005 6500-10500. Will I get 4800 GP in 2010 or 4600? As per 6 PC, counting 10 yrs from 1983, my 2nd promotion will be in 1993 which will be in 4200 GP. 10 yrs from 1993, in 2003 I will be in 4600 in 2013 I think sh. get 4800. Will 4 yrs in 4800 entitle me to 5400? please clarify

Govt. is offering three financial benefits in a service period of thirty years under MACP and it will be applicable for the employees who couldn't get regular promotion in due course of time and this rule will be implemented from 01-09-2008.
In 27 years of service life you have already got three regular promotions so question of MACP doesn't arise in your case.

Er. Debashis, (Forum Moderator) has the following comments to say on the matter:

Dear Er. Shrivastava,

If you were in service till 01-09-2008 (as it is not mentioned here) then you had already completed more than 30 yrs of continuous service.
So you would be eligible for 2nd and 3rd MACP as on 01-09-2008 and you would be given GP 5400/- and also two consecutive increments @3% as because of merger of 5000/- & 5500/- scales and upgradation of 6500/- scale to 7450/- it would be considered that you got only one promotion from GP 4200/- to 4600/-.

Debashis

Dear Er S.P.Shrivastava,

Ref your query reg Fixation under MACPS
MACP was effective from 01-09-2008.

You had already completed more than 30 yrs of continuous service.
Because of merger of 5000/- & 5500/- scales and upgradation of 6500/- scale to 7450/- by the Sixth CPC you would be considered to have got only one promotion from GP 4200/- to 4600/-.
So you are eligible for 2nd and 3rd MACP as on 01-09-2008 and you would be given GP 5400/- in PB 2 Rs 9300-34800 and two consecutive increments @ 3% wef 1.9.2009.
