A Tribute to the Illustrious & Legendary Leader Com. Umraomal Purohit

A TRIBUTE TO THE ILLUSTRIOUS & LEGENDARY LEADER COM. UMRAOMAL PUROHIT

Com. Umraomal Prohit, President AIRF and Secretary Staff Side JCM - who left for his heavenly abode in the early hours 27th February, 2014 - after a spell of sickness - was one of the most dedicated and sincere Trade Unionist. He was a fatherly figure in Indian Trade Union Movement. He strongly believed in peaceful settlement of all matters.

He was one of the best negotiators of our times - with whom I had the honour to be associated with during the last over 4 decades.

His great skills of negotiations brought much relief to the Railwaymen through JCM National Council, Departmental Council, PNM Meetings as well as in the Board of Arbitration etc.

He has left a big void in the Trade Union Movement - at the International and National level - especially on the Railways.

We pay our heart felt condolences to him and pray for the peace of the departed soul and for grant of solace to bereaved family.

HARCHANDAN SINGH,
General Secretary, IRTSA
